We’ve officially wrapped up the first two weeks of school—and what a start it’s been! Our students are settling into their routines, the back-to-school jitters have faded, and we’re ready to hit our stride. PK, Kinder, and Middle School families had the chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get a glimpse of what’s ahead this year at their Back-to-School Night. And our 1st-5th grade parents will get their chance this week.
To top it all off, we kicked off the year with our Back to School Aloha event—and it was a blast!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped pack backpacks with our Pumas Care team. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate 30 fully stocked backpacks to United Way, helping students across Orange County start the year strong.
Even with the heat, our community came out in full force—cooling off with a few hundred Italian ices, dancing with our DJ, and lining up for an unforgettable limbo showdown. Families stayed to eat, laugh, play, and reconnect. It was the perfect reminder of what makes Cadence Park so special: joy, community, and a whole lot of heart. 💛
Here’s to the amazing year ahead—we’re just getting started!
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring volunteers to serve as room parents this school year! Room parents play a vital role in supporting our teachers, organizing class events, coordinating with other parents, keeping our families up to date with PTSA happenings, and helping build a strong classroom community. It is a great way to stay connected with your child’s education and make a meaningful impact. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your involvement makes a difference.
If you are interested in being a room parent, please fill out and submit this form by 9/5/2025.
If you would like to learn more about being a room parent or have any questions, please contact our Room Parent Coordinator, Jubina Bhaijee, at roomparent@cadenceparkptsa.

🌟 Fall Fundraiser: Together We're Golden - The Puma Pop Experience!
September 22 - October 10 | Goal: $130,000
Here's what makes Cadence Park School golden: IUSD ranks in the TOP 5% of California school districts while receiving significantly less funding than the state average. That's some serious magic happening in your child's classroom! But this excellence doesn't happen by accident - it happens because Puma families step up to bridge the gap for their students.
Your support funds the programs that benefit your children directly: STEM classes, teacher supplies, family events, athletics, and so much more. While other districts receive higher state funding, Cadence Park School relies on something even more powerful - families like YOU investing in your own child's education.
Every donation, big or small, comes right back to enhance your student's school experience. With strong participation, this could be our only fundraiser for the entire school year - making your generous donation go even further for your child.
Together, families are proving that heart and community can create something extraordinary for their children.
Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming communications with all the exciting details! Choose your level of support and help your child's school stay golden! 🌟

Heads up, Puma families! The calendar included in the Welcome Packet contained incorrect information due to a spreadsheet glitch.
The correct and updated 2025–2026 PTSA Calendar is now available here on our website. (Please note: You must be registered on the PTSA website to view it.)
Thank you for your understanding and for staying informed as we kick off another great year together!
Our four Summer Meet-Ups were a huge success! From preschoolers to middle schoolers, Pumas of all ages showed up in full force — ready to play, reconnect, and soak up the last days of summer together. It was heartwarming to see how eager our students were to jump back into community, whether they were catching up with old friends or making brand-new ones.
We held separate meet-ups for PK/Kinder, Lower Elementary (Grades 1–3), Upper Elementary (Grades 4–5), and Middle School (Grades 6–8) — and every single one had an incredible turnout. The energy was high, the laughter was loud, and the sense of belonging was unmistakable.
A big thank you to our Meet-Up Coordinators: Anita Bhat, Alice Lee, Onechang Lee, Courtney Ikuta, Shaily Gupta, Diana Tran-Kim, and Samina Khan — and an extra shoutout to our Summer Meet-Up Chairs, Jubina Bhaijee and Eyris Polzine, for making it all happen!
On Thursday, August 15th, our PTSA team gave the Staff Lounge a fresh restock—our way of saying: We’re so glad you’re back! When our amazing faculty walked in and saw the shelves filled, the snacks stocked, and everything ready for the year ahead, the excitement was real. It’s a small gesture, but one that brings joy, comfort, and energy to the incredible people who make our school hum.
Huge thanks to the all-star volunteer crew who came early to set everything up: Amy Chan, Itzi Cori, Xiaoxiao Gu, Hani Keyvan, Oliver Chan, Jyothirmai Pallaboina, Eyris Polzine, Sarah Tobe, and Michelle Villanueva.
And a heartfelt shoutout to the families who donated supplies: Belport, Bonner, Doc, Duncan, Goyal, Howland, Jaramilla, Kane, Kisling, Lan-Fennell, Lee, Polzine, and To.
Our teachers and staff give so much to our school every day—it’s a joy to give a little something back.

Want to get more involved this year? We’ve got a few open roles — and we’d love to have you on the team! Whether you’re great at planning, love a good celebration, or just want to help make school more meaningful for our kids, there’s a place for you here.
Board Positions
VP of Ways & Means
This is our biggest open role and one of the most important! The VP of Ways & Means leads PTSA fundraising efforts, but don’t worry — you won’t be doing it alone. We already have a Fall Fundraiser theme locked in and a hardworking committee putting the details together. What we need is a steady, creative leader to help guide the process, support the team, and keep things moving. You’ll also help coordinate our Spring Obstacle Course fundraiser and connect with local businesses for sponsorships.
Outreach Coordinator
A perfect fit for someone who values community, connection, and inclusion. The Outreach Coordinator helps support some of our most heart-forward programs — like Pumajama, Pumas Care, and Cub to Puma — while also organizing a couple of parent education events during the year. You’ll be a friendly ambassador for the PTSA, encouraging involvement and helping families feel welcomed and informed.
Program Chair Positions
Fall Family Event Chair
🗓️ Event Date: October 17, 5–8 pm
One of our most beloved traditions! This year’s event features a Trunk-or-Treat and outdoor Movie Night, and we’re looking for a fun-loving chair to help bring it all to life.
Cub to Puma Maturity Talks Chair
🗓️ Event Date: March 18, 6–8 pm
This special evening helps 5th and 6th grade students (and their parents) learn about puberty in a safe, supportive space.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Chair
🗓️ Event Date: Week of May 4–8
If you love to celebrate people, this is the role for you! From catered lunches and thoughtful gifts to lounge décor and restocks, you’ll help lead a joyful expression of thanks.
8th Grade Dance Chair
🗓️ Event Date: June 3
Help our graduating 8th graders go out in style!
8th Grade Promotion Chair
🗓️ Event Date: June 5
Ideal for a 7th grade parent ready to pay it forward. You’ll help create a heartfelt sendoff with timelines, templates, and a strong team behind you.
MathCounts Chair
⏰ Timing: Fall start, day/time TBD
An exciting opportunity to launch something brand new at Cadence Park! We have enthusiastic student coaches from Portola High School ready to lead — we just need a parent or two to help oversee.
